FAMILY LAND APPLICATION AND DETAILS Lights of the Northwoods Rhinelander, WI , March 31, 2020– Lighting the Candy Cane in support and comfort of our community “We wish to continue the spirit of the GRAND COMMUNITY premise that we are founded on by lighting and keeping lit the CANDY CANE pole in Hodag Park. We wish to show support for our Frontline Medical personnel and the community in general and that we are all in this together “ President- Shawn Will The Candy Cane pole will be lit each and every night until the safer at home order is lifted. We wish for it to be a message of comfort, hope, and remembrance during this time. We also wish to honor the Medical staff and essential workers keeping us safe. (all nights the lights will be on from 5pm to 9pm and collections of food and monetary donations will be taken at the gate). The displays and the lights will remain on throughout the Holidays 5pm-9pm with limited staffing from Dec. 20th until January 2nd. Returning for 2021 EVENT - FIREWORKS! As the fireworks was such a success we are planning on bring back that part of the event for 2021. Join us at Hodag Park for a spectacular fireworks show! Program PartneringFood Pantry and Donations “At the Door”This is a free event where food and monetary donations will be collected on site. A portion of the proceeds will stay with Lights of the Northwoods for maintenance and expansion of the displays. The remaining portions of any cash donations will be given to the participating non-profit groups for the evening or to help improve the park for all-year use. Lights of the Northwoods would like to partner with any groups that would like to be involved with food drives. 2020 donations totaled 8143 lbs shared among our 3 particpating area food pantrys. 8143 lbs of food collected this year bringing our total to over 19,000 lbs in our four years event history!!!
